nation. The communities of the Orange County District include Apopka, Belle
Isle, Eatonville, Edgewood, Maitland, Ocoee, Orlando, Windermere, Winter Garden
and Winter Park. It consists of over 145 schools, four alternative/exceptional
schools, four technical education centers and adult and community education
centers. The district has established an initiative called the "OCPA Framework
for Higher Achievement", which has created benchmarks of achievement for each
content area for each grade level. To better serve students and parents, the
district is organized into five Regional Learning Communities, each including
between 25 and 35 schools. Principals in these schools report to area
superintendents, who, in turn, report directly to the District Superintendent.
